It all started in the '80's for me, when I saw the movie based on the Marguarite Duras' semi-autobiography, The Lover. To be honest, the movie was not-so-good, but I love the outfits worn by the girl, a simple mix of humidity, slips, straw hats & a fedora. I bought a boater and wore it all summer. Lately, I've been fighting off the urge to wear one again. Seeing so many street-style pics increases this craving. And of course so many of my blogger faves are big on hat: Meggs from Another Day make hats an essential part of her signature style. Until I find the perfect straw hat for me, I'll make due with my collection of rad chicks rocking the boater.

very lovely the straw hats! :) xXx
ReplyDeleteWhat do you MEAN "the movie was not so good?!?" I loved that movie..... I think I could even agree that it was not so good and still say I love it....
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved the movie too, but it's no hallmark of cinema. It's a good looking movie, however, full of gorgeous sets and scenery. For some reason the movie Indochine comes to mind as a similar movie, the one with Catharine Deneuve.
ReplyDeleteOw how nice! :) <3
