Oh, the suggestive power of bloggers. Saw a pair of shoes on an outfit post over at Vinyl Ahoy's blog the other day, and had to have them! You can see this fashion maven's style (and those shoes) here. Well, I freakin' loved the clog-like shape and the black/cream stripe business, so mosied on over to the PaylessShoes website, and took a gander at the Alice + Olivia "striped slingbacks." Then, searching for an affordable pair on black leather brogues, I found these instead:
Classic school-girl saddle shoes. You know what these are going to rock with, right? You guessed it: Gingham. Just got my "shipped today" email from Payless. And soon, I'll be traipsing over to the Downtown Plaza Mall to pick up my Payless purchases. This is my FIRST online purchase of Payless Shoes ever, and the first purchase from Payless since the late '80's. So thank-you, Miss Vinyl Ahoy for having major style and for wearing these shoes to inspire me:
I can hardly wait to get them! Who knows how many black & white outfits I can mix them up with? MY gingham, my stripes, my florals, my polka-dots. BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE.

LOL! I'm so happy you bought them! They're super comfy, and I have to admit that I bought them because Cher (shoeaday.wordpress.com) bought them first and I loved them! :)
proving again the suggestive power of bloggers!
NICE! I can't wait to see what you do with these! The first pair are so wearable and versatile and the second are so fabulous and FUN!

Speaking of shoe love, the brogues in your pic, Hannah = divine! xo.
Ha, love those shoes! Just bought my first pair of oxfords the other day... they're perfect for bike riding around these little streets of Amsterdam! Going to try this two-toned preppy look without looking too much like a schoolboy.
