Sacramento lost a great soul last Sunday.
Tommy Van Wormer, jazz musician, photographer and all around good guy passed away suddenly last Sunday, leaving a keenly felt loss in the Sacramento jazz scene, and the community at large. A longtime Sacramento fixture, Tommy Van Wormer's contributions to the Sacramento music scene seems a very long list for a short post. Member of the '70's/80's band, Hunting Game, an organizer for the annual "In The Flow" jazz festival, and all around chronicler of the music scene, Mr. Van Wormer shared his warmth and support to those that had the honor to know him. Here are a few random images that barely scratch the surface of Van Wormer's presence in the culture of Sacramento:
Rest in peace, Tommy. My condolences to his family, friends & loved ones.
