You first saw the dress here. Today I re-mixed it with yet another D.I.Y. t-shirt shrug and a hint of Harajuku. I LOVE Japanese street fashion , and am constantly inspired by the unique way those kids in Tokyo's Harajuku district wear things. This is my homage to the Harajuku style.
- Layered thrifted polka dot headscarves
- D.I.Y. t-shirt shrug with button beading
- Textile black w/red fabric tassel necklace (re-purposed from a vintage sweater)
- Thrifted B/W ethnic print cotton summer dress
- Flaming Hag Folkwear cuff, Crimson & Clover
- BUTT UGLY silk black velvet drawstring handbag, gifted
- D.I.Y. polka dot sock spats
- Black flats, Target
- Vintage parasol
Bella, this outfit is so incredibly cool! I just adore your diy projects - especially the sock spats! and your umbrella is better than mine - jealous!

ReplyDeletethere's a Harajuku fashion show going on next week in SF at the J-Pop summit. Maaaaan, I want to go!
Bella, you are bella...I do find inspiration in all the fashion movement in Japan: mori, kate...Mainly because they wear what nobody else would dare.
ReplyDeleteAnd we are daringg, aren´t we???? he, he.
You are like a breath of fresh air.
About Ebay, I only sell in Spain clothes that I find in my trips and are too small or too big for me or my family, but thank you for your kindness.
Although the real Harajuku look is a bit too extreme for me (Knee pads? Dolls as hair accessory? That "Vicorian" Lolita thing?) I think your take is very cute, and I love your polka dot scarf tied in your hair like that. Do I spy another one of your adorable t-shirts that you made into a cute cardigan? Oh my gosh I feel sewing coming on!
ReplyDeleteHeather, I agree the look is pretty out there, but I find some of the outfits so innovative and inspiring! Like the fact that tassels are huuuge right now. And that they pair things so wonderfully strange. Cool. But yeah, I'm not dolling up with stuffed animals on my bag and around my neck.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, yet another T-shirt craftiness!
