Last summer I bought a deadstock Carole Little resort rayon separates set, circa 1980. The colors were bright and the prints charming and I imagined wearing the loooong skirt as a strapless dress. Well this summer that skirt fits a bit snug, and the strange little top, which I had never considered, somehow tricked me in trying it on. And odd thing was: I liked it. I'm not sure why, except that it hangs exceptionally well, and reminds me of a Picasso painting.
Now Wearing:
- vintage '80's Carole Little rayon top, Thrift Town
- thrifted shorts, Thrift Town
- black leather flats, Target
- vintage red leather shoulder bag, Salvation Army
- Porkchop Rules, zodiac ring, Crimson & Clover
- Sunglasses from Target

ReplyDeleteAwesome colours on the blazer!! :)
ReplyDeletethis totally channels picasso! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is quite beautiful and unique.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliments. The shirt is funny. A bit bright for my taste but strangely charming. It's a top that is a mock jacket over a black base, a one piece. I should wear the skirt so you can see it in its' Carole Little '80's glory.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to wear it. The colours are so wonderful together.
ReplyDeleteI think that top is fabulous! I agree, it resembles a Picasso and you look like a work of art wearing it!

Oh my gosh I remember that line. Carol Little. What happened to it? Oh hey, and what is "dead stock"?
ReplyDeleteHeather, you've inspired me to do a future post about Carole Little.
ReplyDelete"Deadstock" is vintage that has never been worn with tags still on it. New "old" clothes.
the jacket. yes. kick ass.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great top! It looks fantastic on you.
