outfit post: When the Going Gets Tough

"So you think revolutions are made with rosewater? "
                                                                                             -Francis Bond Head

So do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first? Or should we avoid this conversation all together? Fine by me.

If it seems like I'm wearing my cranky pants, it's cuz I've got a good reason to be cranky. I'm out of coffee, out of money, and out of a job. Yep, you heard it, folks: I am now unemployed. Well, aside from my gazillion side projects (see here, here, and here) and my neglected online shop @ Etsy, I am cut free of any resemblance of the nine-to-fiver. So please excuse the panicked look in my face, but I'm a bit nervous.

And I could use your help. I'll be building said Etsy shop, and doing some local trunks shows, so your support will be most valued in the coming months. In the next month, I'm offering a 15% discount to Citizen Rosebud fans & followers. Convo me for details.

And be sure to check back soon for an update of the glass half-full. And, I promise, I won't be wearing my cranky pants. Which in this case another pair of "mom" jeans that have been cut and rolled into shorts. I liked the outcome of them so much, I wore them for 3 days straight. Which should save me some money on laundry, lol. There's good change on the horizon, and I'm looking foward in sharing the GOOD news with you!

Sorry to hear about the job, babe. I've been out of work, too, and it's incredibly nerve wracking, but you always find a way to make it through. In my case it was dog sitting, which I kind of loved. :)

You look terrific, baby!
I must post my Mom jeans (i keep forgetting - or maybe because i really don't want to ;)
And join the un-employed, out-of -work crowd. It's really not so bad.My trick is to smile like a crazy person skip breakfast, buy off-brand soda (Oh how I miss you Diet Coke.....)
and pinch pennies :)
I have found that I get what I need, somehow. Kinda the loaves and fishes thingy :)
Thanks again, sweets ;)

That sucks. I will be looking forward to this expanded etsy shop however. I'm not quite ready to put away my jean short either. I think a pair of tights will keep them going for another few months recessionista style.

Oooh, the hat.

This job thing...is it something you didn't want to happen or did you kind of want it to end? May great things unfold. And I'm headed over to the Etsy I didn't know you had!

If those rolled up jeans are your cranky pants then maybe you should wear them more often - they look great on you!

Sorry to hear about your job. It's tough out there right now. I've been looking for a job for over a year and I'm lucky to be teaching a sewing class for a bit of extra money.

I'll be sure to check out your etsy shop.
