The second Sacramento Style/Fashion Blogger Meet-up had a modest turn-out, but proved the old adage "quality over quantity." Some of the handful of attendees were old friends from the first Blogger meet-up, and a few were new to the group. They did not disappoint: stand-outs, one and all. The group hit it off, immediately, starting from the moment Nicole, of Little Bits of Nikknak recognized Melody Stone's stone-cold blogger style and ambled up to her at the Midtown Bazaar. "You're a blogger, aren't you?" And introductions were made.
We met at the Midtown Bazaar. Some of my favorite vendors generously donated swag for this group of citizen journalists. Nora Mattes Kniveton, the lovable mind & hands behind Transient Treasures and Time and Again Fashions gave each of the bloggers a bookmark made from a recycled key, and cute "gumball" rings, made from glass marbles. The bloggers loved them! Steven Michael Millington, aka "the Mayor of Midtown," AND jewelry maker of the NewOld Jewelry line, gave us a sampling of ear-rings, made from various re-purposed vintage buttons, or to spice things up, little red Monopoly house game-pieces. Sabrina Berthane, who along with Sarah Modeste, help run Midtown Bazaar, made us feel welcome, and we took a "quick" tour checking out the lovely crafts and vendors at this community marketplace.
Shopping made us thirsty. So we made a bee-line to the nearby watering hole, Streets of London, and in the comfortable shade of the back patio we sipped cider and soda and had a serious gab-fest. The meet-up, which was planned to go until 3 p.m. tipped into the early evening. We parted a little before 6, with a chorus of plans to make this meet-up a regular thing. Thanks to all the lovely bloggers who attended the event. I am so looking forward to the next one!
