Cosmopolitan sophistication mingles with Country-style sweet in District of Chic |
Classic Fantastic:
If I were to dress like a grown-up, I would want to dress like E. E is the lovely (and leggy) blogger behind the highly respected District of Chic. Weardrobe listed her as one of the top 100 fashion bloggers to watch in 2010. And watch we did, proving the Chanel adage that "style is eternal."
E's blog, The District of Chic was given a special acknowledgment from the Citizen's Choice BEST Blogs of 2010. She is notable for her consistently refined take on style, using classic components but keeping them fresh and contemporary. For this she is presented with the Classic Fantastic award.
the Citizen: You've been blogging since 2008. How has the blogging world changed since then?
District of Chic: Well, there's so many more blogs out there. The creativity and choices have definitely expanded ten-fold. I also love that greater communities and resources, like IFB are popping up, thanks to this expansion of the fashion blogging community.
the Citizen: How has your blog changed?
District of Chic: It's always been a creative outlet for me, but now I can honestly look back and say that it's served its purpose. My husband's and my photography has improved by leaps and bounds, and yet we're constantly learning more about it. I love that the blog has encouraged us to practice this.
the Citizen: What did 2010 do for you, and your blog? Tell me some things you are grateful for that happened this past year.
District of Chic: I'm always grateful to have such kind comments. It's very encouraging and creates this wonderful sense of community in the fashion blogging world.
No gimmicks here, just pure American style. |
the Citizen: What inspires you? Your style?
District of Chic: People I see walking around, who you can tell don't slave over fashion magazines and current trends, but just wear what they want to wear and the results are amazing... other blogs, of course... runway collections... old photos.... all kinds of things!
the Citizen: What advice can you share with up & coming bloggers?
District of Chic: I would tell them to keep it up! Make sure you're sharing what you love and the comments and traffic will come eventually. Don't be afraid to try something new - I always get excited to find new blogs that don't fit the "mold" - that's the beauty of the internet.

ReplyDeleteBella, I stumbled upon her a few weeks back and found myself spending over an hour looking at EVERY post. I love her style and her advice....just be yourself. Sometimes I've found myself imitating too much instead of trusting my own fashion sense and style. ~Serene
