Thanks, peeps for all the pep talk, but just to let you know I wasn't blue-blue, just blue with cold, and soaked with grey. It's been a soggy and grey Sacramento; the norm are mild winters but this one has been a rolling roller coaster of storms, so it's very wet, very overcast and a lot colder than normal. Since I don't drive, my feet are cold from walking over the flooded sidewalks and muddy lawns, I don't care much for biking on slippery bike lanes, or waiting at rained-on bus-stops. My bones are chilled, well to the bone, and I NEED MAH VITAMIN D. As I said before, these grey overcast skies don't make for a good outfit post, poor lighting and such. Also, it's hard to dress cute when you are braving slosh-y elements.
Well the sun must have heard my complain', because it came out today, a lovely respite from sodden misery. Much needed. Almost feels like a day in March and not late December. Here's what I wore right before our current storm session. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a few more rays with it as well. Cheers!

Oh I feel your pain. When rainy weather hits and stays it's just an annoyance and it especially sucks when you have to walk/bike in it.
ReplyDeleteBut your outfit is really pretty. I love the stripes and polka dots you've got going on here!
I hear ya! Winter is not going down without a fight in my neck of the woods either. I long for the day I wake up to the sound of the blue bird, but waking up to Bella the blue bird is even better.
ReplyDeleteI love the collaboration of spots and stripes. Your tights are amazing and I'm even more jealous of your blazer collection than ever. I need to get more colorul blazers. I only have grey and black ones. And thanks for the feedback on my post. I'll be liking you on facebook in no time. xo
I find this outfit absolutely fantastic! The blues, the vintage sunnies, the shoes! All great!

It's sleeting here right now. Am ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteLove your blue period!
ReplyDeleteI love all the pattern mixing you have going on. The electric blue blazer is fantastic. My boyfriend, and I have contemplated moving to Cali (he lived there until he was 18) plenty of times because of Ohio weather. It seems like no matter where you go you can't win.
ReplyDeleteMy Heart Blogged
I love how you mixed such bold colors and bold patterns in a way that isn't overwhelming or over-the-top. It's actually really..calming.
ReplyDeletePablo (Picasso) would be proud!!!
ReplyDeleteA blue period done right!!!
Great combinations of blue shades and prints!!!
ooooh! I love those sunnies.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny, I remember Sacramento winters being FREEZING! I was spoiled by SoCal winters. When I'd go up north for holidays, I would be freezing my buns off!
I love your stripes and dots! I FINALLY found a polka dot blouse AND a polka dot skirt this past weekend! woohoo! I am looking forward to mixing it up with spots and stripes, spots and leopard, spots and EVERYTHING... real Citizen style :)
You look so pretty and happy in these pics! A little Vitamin D does every girl some good. I hope more is on its way!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you know I love this look. I can't stop wearing blue, but more than that, you know how much I love me some stripes!
You all put a big smile on my face. Today is cold and blustery- something like 45 mph winds. But inside I am warmed by your sweet comments.
ReplyDelete@IFE: one- happy birthday girl! 2)LOVE your outfit- leopard and stripes big puffy hearts!
@Santina- this outfit reminded me of you- perhaps the cool colors and of course the stripes, my soul sister! <3

I think the best weather compromise would be sunshine Sun - Wed, then a good snowboarding-friendly storm Thur-Sat! I hear ya, though, I was never fond on cycling in the rain:(

I know how you feel, lady. New England weather is the pits, and we're supposed to get snow tonight! I thought winter was over. :( Well, at least your blue tights are there to cheer me up. I've been meaning to go on an ordering spree at We Love Colors, but I keep trying to convince myself that spring is here and I won't need them for much longer. Apparently, that's not the case.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at the hail falling outside of my office window right now, and the only thing keeping me from becoming extremely grouchy is the sunshine I am getting from this post!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit - love blues (my fave color). You look fantastic and the tights are super-cute!
I am so jealous I can't speak. It has been snowing all day here and I mean ALL DAY and has been continuously snowing pretty much since November. I need to go to California.
ReplyDeleteOh, Bella, you have blown my mind with this amazing pattern mixing!
ReplyDeleteI have been blue with cold too. It has been a long, cold, snowy winter with more white stuff today....
Ohhh you're making me feel blue... but see... blue is a happy colour for me!
ReplyDelete(and dayam, I'm a poet. :)
You look spectacular and I know how you feel re lack of Vit D! I'm a solar gal. I need sunshine.

isn't it great that the sun is finally coming out? i love all these colors and those vintage sunnies!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your outfit! What a great color combination. Bright blue really becomes you.
ReplyDeleteIt's been soggy down here in LA too, but I'm trying to focus on enjoying it. Be the time August rolls around I'm sure I'll be sick of the intense heat and wishing for rain!
But then again I do have a car. I don't think I'd be very happy having to take the bus or bike in this weather.
Love,
Heather
