Sunday started out innocently enough. It started out as a 10 o'clock coffee date with my home slice, Kerry D. We met at Old Soul in the alley on L Street, pretty much the best coffee spot in Sac-town, and while sipping on lattes and nibbling on a muffin and croissant, we caught each other up on the happenings of our lives. She wanted me to check out some new shop that popped up over the weekend across the alley way, so off we went.
It was a pop-up shop, or as the lovely owners put it "a mobile boutique" called the Mob Shop. Romy Itzigsohn and Lauren Bingham who hail from L.A. and San Fran respectively are setting up shop all over California. So for a week-end, as part of a 2-day event called Curios & Notions, Sacramento was privvy to a wonderful mix of choice vintage, and eclectic furnishings. A shout out to Erin of Bows and Sparrows for helping bring the Mob Shop to Sacramento!
Yes. I already own a cobalt blue wool blazer but this one is different. |
When she's not serving up sustainable fare at the Magpie Cafe, Kerry D is busy blogging at Fashion Farms and Freedom |
Kerry & I had such a good time shopping at the Mob Shop (she bought a black 1950's blouse, and I scored yet another cobalt blue blazer) we decided to keep going, and walked across the alley to check out the bike-friendly vintage re-mades by Amanda Carroll over at the Edible Pedal Bike Shop.
The Edible Pedal Bike Shop is located next to Old Soul at 1712 L Street |
Ol' Blue Eyes is Brad Gleed, bike advocate and co-owner of the Edible Pedal. |
Here's a video made by the nice folks over at the Edible Pedal:
By this time it was high noon, and we were in the mood to do a little Midtown scenic bike riding. So we rode around, on the lookout for more boutique-y goodness. This Irish lass is soaking up some heat at Hot Italian |
We biked over to Free Style and did a little shopping, which whetted our appetites for the killer vintage of Crimson & Clover. All this shopping got us hungry and thirsty so what better place to re-fuel than the bike friendly and pizza-riffic Hot Italian? So we did. And so should you.
So our mid-morning coffee date turned into an all day excursion and by the time I rode my trusty Dahon Ciao P7 home it was nearly 5 pm. Full of coffee, shopping, pizza and Morreti, this little blogger pedalled home hopped-up on fun and sunshine, and basking in the best Sunday ever.
Sounds like a fantastic day. I love your blue blazer.

Looks like a fun day! You look so lovely in that dress! :)
ReplyDeleteThose kind of days are the best, when it just goes on and on and you want to keep going. Looks like you had lovely sunshine for it xx
ReplyDeleteOh Bella, I loved the dress in your first shot, but when you put on that incredible color in the cardiagan...well, I loved it even more!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm salivating over the cobalt blue blazer - I'm still obsessed with that colour.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm going to start making notes on your expressions: "home slice' is brilliant!
You both look fabulous.....super cute striped socks......the pics make me wanna visit.....NOW:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect day! I love when days unravel like this. Sometimes it's best to not have plans and just go where your bike takes you. Speaking of bikes, this post made me so excited because I'm going shopping for a new one today because mine is ancient and a hazard to everyone on the road. This post just has me so excited to get back on two wheels!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you look amazing and that blazer is electrifying and so obviously different than your other one. I'm so glad you bought it! xoxo
Sounds like you had as lovely a weekend as I did. Isn't it delightful when springtime finally bursts out?

What an adventure! I can only imagine how fun that was. Makes me want to get out there and go crazy myself.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I've been meaning to say it for a while, but I absolutely admire your ability to mix prints. It's one of those things thats super gutsy and rule-breaking (who needs 'em anyway). I'm not quite there yet myself but I love seeing how you do it.
It was such a GREAT day! And I can't wait to show you that new blue blazer. I better hurry up- it's wool and spring in Sactown warms up quick!
ReplyDelete@Pull Up YOUR socks! I would so love you to stop me in the street- so we could go off and grab a pint of something and hang out and talk about vintage! xo.

Love your striped knee socks! I'm such a fan of knee socks, though I usually wear mine with boots. This is a sweet, soft look that suits you!
ReplyDeleteI am admiring the striped socks with the sandals. That blazer is a beautiful color and an interesting cut. I'll be curious to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteYou make me wanna move to California. It seems so laid back, maybe because you're not bracing yourself against the cold all the time :P
