outfit post: Striped Like Santina

Feeling a little Ooh-la-la Parisienne in my over-sized striped T-shirt from Target
My STRIPED Sister from another Mister- Santina of Style By Santina
Today's outfit reminded me of blogger gal-pal Santina's style. While her and I share an abiding love for stripes, florals & bold prints & super short hair-cuts, I admire how she always wears her stripes with such simple grace and effortlessness. She makes her stripes very American sportswear chic which is a perfect look on the beaches of Mexico or the streets of San Francisco. I was feeling a bit fierce in my new D.I.Y. patent leather choker which, in my mind, made the outfit a bit Parisienne chic- it could just be the wilds of my imagination however...
 
Keeping it Simple: Striped top, jeans and brogues
As I haven't really seen many French girls strolling about with shiny belts around their necks! 

Now Wearing: 
  • D.I.Y. patent leather choker (re-made from a vintage belt)
  • Over-sized striped T-shirt from Target
  • Ralph Lauren dark-denim short shorts
  • Lace socks (once a pair of lace tights)
  • Cuff made from a recycled record, Cuffs
  • Aldo black leather brogues
And speaking of Paris, here's a documentary I'd love to see. Let's hope it makes it to an Art House near you~

    Love the simplicity of this look - very French indeed. But might I add that you have brought a wonderful West Coast relaxed edginess (if that's not an oxymoron!) to it. You should definitely visit Ireland one day, I plan to visit Cali! Some day! xxx

    I love striped and I love this top on you. I just plain love the top and wish that I also had found it! I like your poses. All I can seem to do is smile in every picture. Every time I try to look thoughtful or serious I end up looking bored or angry.

    I think you look wonderful in this! The choker I thought would be too juvenile (back when I was a juvenile at least) but I actually really like it here with the open neck.

    YAY!!!! I LOVE STRIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a striped shirt as well except it's the opposite of yours, off white with dark blue stripes, but the stripes are the size of your stripes. does that make sense? i feel like i used the word "stripes" wayyyy too many times in this comment.. =P

    I love how you change it up all the time with stripes, polkadots and florals... you do it well. I have been to Paris 4 times and have seen so many chic and creatively dressed ladies... I think you would fit in for sure!
