outfit post: Raindrops on Roses

Right now, it is hard for me to imagine that last week-end came with rain. A set of cold grey drizzly days that seemed more like late winter than early spring. But it did, and I was layered up in knit caps, tights, a sweater and a couple of kittens. The silver lining to this cloud cover was that I had just gone thrifting and scored for $3.98 an awesome winter jacket- A black wool Erin Fetherson for Target number that came equipped with a ruffled shoulders, velvet trim, heart pockets and on the back of the coat, a black-as-your-soul heart applique. Oh you know I will be wearing the sleeves off of these hearts next winter, don't you? Well, I was glad to have it on hand (I've packed up all my winter coats already) to sport around town last Saturday. Which is when I wore this outfit.

The cat you see in the top photo is named Georgie. He's a feral cat who lives near my apartment, and I've been feeding him and his brother, Karl for over 3 years now. So he's rather fond of me. Tries to sneak into my house and pretend to be a housecat. I guess he was pretty stoked to see me frolicking about on that rainy Saturday, so he kept running up and trying to get me to pet him. Which I did. Because petting kittens is on my list of favorite things.
Check out the lovable detail on the back of this Erin Fetherson for Target jacket: I HEART it!

  6. I must agree, the coat is so cute! Not cuter than cats though. We had a male cat (Tommy) but had to give him away. We live in an apartment and he was a very active cat. At one point he was climbing and jumping on the walls. Now he's happily part of a family with a big yard.

  8. Love this outfit. You look fabulicious.

I take care of two feral cats too! One of them is always trying to be our house cat too. But our real house cat isn't having it. Every now and then you'll see them in some of my photos. And I love to oblige with pets and love as well.

  30. I have the same jacket! I however, did not get it for the price that you did, you lucky gal! Isn't the jacket great? I got it a few years ago at Target and I still get compliments on it. It's by far one of my favorites. You look fantastic! Here's my post where I'm wearing it, too.

  31. That jacket is just fabulous! I bet it sold out at Target in like 10 seconds. Lucky girl you found it on super sale. Now I'm feeling lucky too - maybe a trip to "out of the closet" is in the future...

  32. I want your black heart!!! For real! What a great find.

I actually have the opposite problem...have not packed up my winter wear: boots, coats, ect. Summer came much too fast in NY.
