I know I have the body of a woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a King |
1-2-3-4: I am counting the days...
for Fall weather to arrive to Sacramento. Until the cooler weather arrives, I intend to reign with my arsenal of autumnal colors donned in light weight fabrics. Today's outfit is one of my personal all time faves, a regal number centering around a charming smocked vintage blouse that buttons down the back. I'm ornamented with two incredible pieces, courtesy of Fringe, and feeling every bit an exalted ruler, ala Henry the VIII.
THIS IS HENRY:
THIS IS ME:
Feeling Regal: investing in unique and quality pieces are a wise investment. |
Can you feel the royal resemblance?
The necklaces were a loan from Fringe, my first local Citizen Rosebud sponsor. You can expect more details about my recent collaboration with the folks of Fringe next week!
Here's some detail shots of these majestic pieces:Royally Remade: This one-of-a-kind necklace was made by artist Eric Jensen |
Exalted History: this fabulous vintage find is actually fraternal memorabilia. |
Necklace 2: This velvet backed, gold-tone majestic metal necklace is heavy with history. It is an authentic piece of memorabilia of the fraternal society, the Elks Lodge. For more about the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, click HERE.
While I'm not one to wear a lot of jewelry and rarely warm up to necklaces, these magnificent pieces really sang my name! Long live King Bella!
Now Wearing:
- Paparazzi-Avoiding Sunglasses, Target
- 1960's vintage smocked top, Crimson & Clover
- Remade Necklace by Eric Jensen, available at Fringe
- Vintage Elks Lodge neck-piece, available at Fringe
- The short shorts
- Gold beaded strands, c/o Anika Burke
- Flaming Hag Folkwear cuff, Crimson & Clover
- Gold goddess sandals, Target
Clearly musing about world domination. Or ice cream. |
I just want to add that I think you're awesome for wearing shorter shorts. I've fallen victim to that I'm "too old, body is too imperfect, blah blah blah" mindset. I'm really glad that you haven't
ReplyDeleteYou're looking REGAL! Love that Liz the first quote x
ReplyDeleteYou look WAY more regal than Henry VIII! I'm loving the necklaces, so amazing. Long live King Bella!

ReplyDeleteThou art majestic beyond compare, O Queen of Sacramento! Your neck ware is pretty amazing. I was just at a Legion of Honor exhibit and was just thinking how fun it would be to wear those Elizabethan collars (white accordion around the neck)! xxx
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for fall weather. youhavenoidea. Bring on the skinny jeans, knee-high boots, leather jackets, and scarves!!! I am not, however, excited for spending 20 minutes a night blow-drying my long-ass, thick hair.

You are so good to adding fun to every outfit and story you write! Love that Feist song and video!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Love the necklaces! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for chocolate brown summer tops like yours. I own a couple of them and they're my favorites for warm weather. Something about that color! I'm usually much more into bright colors but I've always been drawn to dark brown for some reason.
Congrats on the sponsor! Was just watching The Tudors last night and was lusting after these very kind of necklaces. You've brought it to life for me.
