outfit post: Flora + Fauna

Strength is Happiness.

Flora and Fauna: An animal print sweater prowls the urban jungle with a floral blouse.
Hello Friends. Our Fall has been a strange one, but a very nice late summer. I'm trying my best to use any excuse to throw on a sweater, especially this animal print chunky knit cardigan- a score from Goodwill. It's a Ralph Lauren label, a thick hand-knit sweater and very comfy.

Pattern mixing made easy: Keep your color palette simple and repetitive. (Photos: Bella Q)
One way to make prints mix is to give the patterns a sense of rhythm. In this case the floral and the leopard print are pulled together with the bottom half of the outfit: black tights which echo the black of the blouse, and the tan sandals that share a similar hue to the tan in the sweater.  It's best not to get too matchy-match but to loosely combine your prints. Have fun!

  16. I really like your flora & fauna fusion look, it works for me. I dislike it when people spout rules...this should never be seen with that & that doesn't go with this...blah blah, we are all individuals & if you feel it working then that is all that matters in my opinion. x

  18. Do you have any idea how many fur pieces I have tried on lately? I look horrible in fur. No idea why. I just do. And that's lame balls. You, however, look like a pimp.

  19. Very cool! I love the mix of patterns and the vibrant colors in the shirt too. And the tall socks! That's something I'm hoping to wear with boots this winter, since I have some shorter boots. I've spotted some really cute over-the-knee socks around town. :o)

  20. It's been raining in Miami the past couple days... a sign that a cold front is in the near.....

I call this outfit, funky feline. I myself am finding any excuse to wear a sweater. I just love the cold season... seems ironic since I live in Miami.. or maybe that's why I want cool air so bad..

See you over on twitter. xoxo
