Tongues Waggin'

I think the wind brought with it, an intense push for change. And I'm not sure I like it.

It's been an odd couple of days for me, a bit wonky, and I hope I land on my feet. To top it off, someone sent a link my way in which I discovered some not very nice things being said about me, which sort of wobbled my already awkward day. It is human nature to talk smack about people, places or things you don't like, and trust me, I am no innocent when it comes to shit talking. But man, the power of words can lynch your ego, let me tell you. Anyhoo, yesterday was full of strange stewings and unsettlings but the best thing is..... days end, and the next one always promises the possibility of better outcomes.

Speaking of outcomes, the Karina Dress Give-Away winner is announced over at shopthecitizen.com and you can find out the lucky winner of a Karina dress by clicking HERE

And if you want to help the outcome for a good cause, be sure to stop by Annimal's eBAY auction. She is selling a gorgeous vintage Zandra Rhodes gown for seed money to raise funds for her non-profit Annimal House Foundation. She posted about it (check it out, if only for her cute outfit) HERE. You can bid on the gown HERE

Have a GREAT weekend, Rosebuds!

  1. Boo on whoever was posting shit-talk! You are awesome and admired, just know that... and the number of people who recognize your awesomeness completely outweigh the shit-talkers. ::sending admiring vibes your way::

  5. Bella, I am so sorry that someone hurt you and that you had to be shown the language...I would just rather not know. As a journalism teacher and writer, I have had to endure much criticism and it helps to develop a thick skin...but I know it is tough. You hang in there...you are such a gifted communicator and doing so much for the economy in Sacramento! I hope you can come over and give me your opinion on my Friday post topic...I would love to know what you think!! Why? Because your opinion is important...no matter what anyone else might say!

  6. Blow all that negativity off, you are the best, baby! I was charmed by you the moment I saw you outside of the subway station at Seventh Avenue and spending time with you only increased this sensation. You are gorgeous and generous and loved. Focus on the beauty you are bringing to a world that badly needs it! XO, Jill

  7. That's sad people said bad things about you. But realize that people who do that are damaged and revealing their own inadequacies; you are merely fodder of the moment. In the bigger picture, you are better than them and need not concern yourself with their idiotic opinions.

  8. I'm sorry someone was talking schmack. It's hard to let it roll off, but the alternative is unacceptable. If it makes you feel any better, I love you! And I love those weird cow things. Are those for sale? They are pretty rad. haha! Hope today is better.

  9. It's easy for us to say, "Oh, don't let it worry you, people are STUPID!" but we all know that is easier said than done.

That said, what we all love about you, Bella, is your authenticity and individuality. So let the haters hate, because they clearly have nothing better to do, unlike YOU, who has a million great things happening, and as many people ready to dispense some whoop as if needed!

    You're Bella. You're badass. Don't forget, babe.

  10. * that's WHOOP ASS that needs to be dispensed!

  12. Someone once said 'There is no such thing as bad press.' Or some such thing...Jealousy lives and thrives in ugly ideas. And when was the last time you read something negative and said 'Yeah, that is sooooo true!'?...that's what I thought, no one I want to know feeds on that! Nasty is as nasty does, my precious friend! Feel bad for them that they don't have original creative thoughts to do something productive with. That being said, I'm sorry for your bad day, I've had my share...they suck! Reach for the sun today!

  13. Despite all the lovely comments we get it only takes one unpleasant one to shake our confidence. I had some vile stuff last year, it's impossible to ignore but rest assured 99.9999% of us love you and the random tosser is but an insignificant pimple on the arse of the universe. xxxxxxxxx

  14. We are one in the same my friend. I have had a pretty upsetting week, but nonetheless I manage to stay on my feet and think positively. After all, if we have no hope in ourselves how can we expect others to?

You are beautiful and forget the words you read. Negativity is love and hate at the same time. At least you're being talked about.

  15. Sorry about the smack talk. It is too easy for people to be mean behind an anonymous internet screen name.

  16. Now why would someone send you a link to bad things? I feel sorry for people that have to make themselves feel important by saying bad things about others. They are not worth your time dear one! -T

  17. Awwwwww honey......I know how that must have felt! But, you know what? Just think that these people have nothing better to do in life.....so they are bad-mouthing you! I mean, you must be very important......that's why THEY are talking about you......and NOT vice-versa!! :)

Anyways, such beings are not important enough to waste any sleep over dear.......just be your lovely self.....and wait for the Howrah Bridge pieces to reach you & bring a smile on our face!!! <3

    BIG hug....& kisses!! XOXOX

  20. Pooh on the crap talker (literally - haha). Yes, each person has their own opinion, but it's never nice to publicly post negative commentary. That's just asking for bad karma and bad energy. You are amazing, and I'm sending you rays of positive light & love. <3

  23. Why exactly did this person send you a link to this garbage? I'm really not sure that's helpful.
One of the scary things about self publishing is that you are putting yourself out there. Most everyone is going to like what you do, but there are going to be people who don't, and those people can probably self publish too. I've heard of a few blogs that do nothing but bash other bloggers. My feeling is that they have nothing better to do with their lives.
I'm sorry yesterday hurt and I hope today will be better. Love you Bella! You are the sweetest, nicest, person with a unique and fabulous sense of style. Don't stop what you're doing just because other people don't get it.

  24. Well despite of what was said just know I think for all it's worth-that you are simply amazing! I hope things have settled down. xo

  25. Obviously someone is immature. You're awesomeness isn't defined by some random person on the internet, but if it is ego boosting (because, yeah, sometimes it is), you have a lot of friends out here.

Hope today was the new day you were hoping for!

  26. Hugs to you Bella! I've been there, and it is a shitty feeling. But you are a gorgeous & inspiring individual, so don't let the haters get you down.

  27. I am so sorry that you have had to deal with unkind energy. Know that you are loved and that you are a very important and talented voice in this amazing community. I'm hoping that you are feeling this overwhelming outpouring of support.

  28. Oh Bella. You have the best attitude. I hope you did land on your feet as I have all faith that you always do. But I know that words often sting more than a slap in the face, le sigh. But I guarantee you there are quadruple the amount of lovely things said about you that you also don't know about.

  29. Im sorry Bella. xo hugs and kisses for you and only you!!

  30. I'm so sorry Bella that you have to get your spirits down by people that have great amounts of self hate and that have to find they way to project these feelings into others.
Nosotros todos te apreciamos y queremos; por tu belleza externa, interna y por que eres un espiritu de fuerza y positivismos.

  31. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that you had to go through that. I know how it feels. I've had that happen to me and I was so shaken by the experience I almost deleted my blog.

But then I figured no, reacting that way would mean that those awful people would have won some kind of weird "victory", and I wasn't about to give them that! But it did a number on my mindset for a while, and I still find myself getting nervous whenever people I don't know post comments on my blog.

Guess that's the sucky part of life online. I know it's easy to say "Don't let it get to you", but you've got us all supporting you so take heart! :o)

  32. I just found you and I like you! Some years ago I created the "Free Katie" t-shirt. OH THE THINGS THAT WERE SAID ABOUT ME! Some of it hurt but now I actually include them in my bio. If people take the time to write about you at all on the web it means your revalent. That you are!

  33. Bella, I am sorry you had to deal with a tongue wagging jerk! I like what Vix said, and WendyB's link to Katt Williams. Katt is right, haters don't hate us, they hate good stuff.
