Perhaps it's the buying ban I've put upon myself, but I am not inspired by dressing up lately. The winter chill probably doesn't help but really, I'm just not feeling it. Or maybe it's because I don't know what I'm dressing for. I'm craving a uniform, something that is cozy, functional and takes no thought to put on. Today's outfit was an attempt to dress warmly with what I have, but somehow not quite the thing. I've been drawn to all black lately, colors just aren't resonating with me. Is this a trend, or me bucking one? I'm feeling very anti-fashion lately, perhaps a back lash to my fashion obsessed blogging for the past 3 years. What about you? What looks have you been trying?
Now Wearing:
- Wool Cloche, Target
- Black Cat ring, gifted
- Clearance Wool Striped Sweater, Target
- Cotton LBD, shortened, GAP
- Floral tights, FRINGE
- Vintage Boots, Thrift Town
I get like that sometimes. A small pause might help.

Aha, I see you are still putting together a relaxed but strong look though - it must be instinctive! (I'm a sucker for a cloche hat). Funnily enough, I have also been drawn to yellow and grey recently.
ReplyDeleteFaux fur coats, it's cold here. My uniform = jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt. Go on, get your boyfriend tee out again!
ReplyDeleteWe all have those days. I tend to revert to my jeans and a jumper, hardly fashionable I know but comfy never the less.

I have the same kind of feeling, maybe because it's -25-30 degrees here, so I am dying to this freezing winter. Can't wear any skirts or dresses, and I have to wear a working uniform at school every day now so no freedom to choose what to wear. It's depressing :(
ReplyDeletePs: love that hat :)
I quite like the combination of the floral tights with the striped sweater... :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right, the cold weather has put me off "dressing up" too! Nowadays, all I want to be is warm!
I like your warm & cozy black. For me, it might be easy for the OOTD posts to become predictable. I know I've been looking for ways to change that up. And I miss Reva, big time.
ReplyDeleteAnd even with you feeling this way, you look more stylish and put together than 99.9% of the population.
ReplyDeleteI completely get you though. I feel that way SO often. But I somehow get inspired again. Eventually.
xoxo,
Tracy
Nice pattern mixing. You look good. Way to turn a shopping ban around.

Well, I live in the black tee and jeans combo uniform you had on the other day. You could wear that one for awhile if you need a break.
ReplyDeleteAs for fashion/style blogging, I'm having a crisis myself, not sure how much longer I want to go on doing it.
Oh boy (or girl rather), I have totally been there. Experiencing fashion burn-out can be a bit of a relief, I must admit. You can explore ideas for that "go to" uniform!

ReplyDeleteI always get a thrill putting clothes together in my head, on my bed and eventually on me. If I don´t bother to do so, is when I am down or ill.
ReplyDeleteYou always look gorgeous to me.

Hey Bella, This does not sound like you! I'm sure you will get back into it soon. You are the queen of pattern mixing, remember, which is still hot right now. And thanks to you I've tried it myself a few times. Oh, I just noticed you're still doing it in this outfit! See what I mean, even if you don't feel like dressing up, you still do it naturally and look amazing anyway!
ReplyDeleteThe black hat makes a statement, so you don't even have to try! It just happens! I am always drawn to black! Whatever your process, you will be followed!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to lie, I've been feeling the same way. Anything I've ben drawn too lately is very Spring-a-rific. Maybe we'll feel more fashion-y once Spring arrives?

What Lola Wants
To be honest, I completely understand. I'm wondering if so much of my blogging attention has sapped some of my passion for style. Feeling SO uninspired! You look great, even if you're feeling a bit unfashionable lately too! Hugs! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteI go through phases too where I just cant be bothered, it doesn't last long though and Im soon back on form!
ReplyDeleteI tend to go through phases where I prefer bright colours & crazy fashion, and then phases where I prefer all black & comfort. Maybe you just need a bit of a change from the daily grind. Xoxo.
ReplyDeleteI don't try looks, I just chuck on a maxi, then it's done...LOL! I am a lazy stylist, ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI love the cloche addition to this ready-set-go look! I've been wearing my oldie items that I've not worn in a long time ... getting inspired from my earlier blog photos. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you look cool especially for not feeling inspired. Love your style of soft mixed with hard. Hats look great on you.
