Finally! Some rainy days came through Sacramento so I could test-run my stylish Ahnu rainboots. I was recently contacted by the folks at Ahnu to do a product review. I (puddle)JUMPED at the chance. I'm a fan of this San Fransico based active footwear company and their mission: To create uncompromising footwear performance while utilizing an ethical supply chain. Ahnu also is committed to contributing to charitable organizations. Quality, ethical and style are big on my list, so I was eagar to try out a pair of Ahnu footwear for myself.
I chose the stylish yet practical Embarcadero waterproof boot in black. I was struck with the quality construction of the boots, and the charming design. Upon putting them on, I could tell that the waterproof boots were made for comfort- the inside of the boot is well padded and my first stroll out in the rain was effortless. No breaking-in needed here.
The outside seems seamless- there is no space in the stitching for any water to seep through. These boots are made for all sorts of terrain in any kind of weather. Rain, snow, sleet: my foot would most assuredly stay warm, comfortable and dry. What impressed me most about the Embarcadaro boot was found on the bottom- deep treads to prevent any slipping while walking on wet surfaces. The grip was incredible, and I felt safe to walk through flooded sidewalks, soggy lawns and stomp through mud puddles. I could easily see this working well outside the city too, in a more rural setting with or without pavement.
The Embarcadaro boot is a stylish natural for all habitats. I enjoys several cityscape adventures in the rain wearing them, walking all over Midtown. The foot cushioning is so padded, I had zero discomfort in spite of the amount of ground I covered on one particularly long urban "hike." I would definitely recommend these boots for winter and rainy seasons.
I intend to purchase a more suitable pair of Ahnu shoes for our upcoming spring weather. The company really knows how to create a shoe for folks seeking balance. I now know that I've got some great options for active footwear that doesn't skimp on style or ethics. I'm thinking a good, cute as a button walking shoes like this one, in bright orange and navy patent, might be in my future. What better excuse to be explore new sights and sounds than a cute pair of comfortable shoes?

ReplyDeleteYou look amazing as always (that coat is to die for) and those boots look like they would do well down here in sometimes sunny San Diego when the weather is a bit wet.
