You know you're a fashion blogger when the dressing room = photo booth + the iPhone is your right hand man.
It's not normal to feel comfortable snapping photos of yourself in a dressing room is it? If it's normal to you, I'm guessing you're a fashion blogger. When my neighbor tells me she noticed that I was taken photos of myself in the backyard, and that she was polite and didn't watch, I realized how unusual this meta-world I live in is. Who really plans outfits to fit into some sort of blog schedule? Who takes constant pictures of themselves wearing those outfits? Not your average joe, let me tell you. I don't think everybody makes themselves at home in front of a dressing room mirror and snaps away. And how many of these mirrored images are on my cellie is between me and my iPhone.
that it's not always something to bring up in casual conversation, and doesn't produce the same giddiness in the listener (or reader, sorry!) as it does for yours truly. I am personally, pretty stoked about it. Anyhoo, I've been honored to be listed this in IFB Links Ala Mode. Do feel free to read these other great and featured posts-
HAVE A GREAT WEEK-END, EVERYBODY! -Bella Q
Wanted: Wardrobe
Edited by: Sonia of In Pursuit of Style
Something about the change in weather that makes me want bright colors, fabulous new clothes and fancy new shoes. This happens every year, as excitement builds with peep toes, sleeveless tops and flowing skirts aplenty. I’ve been feeling uninspired lately, but this week’s blogger submissions have me excited again. We have some showing us how to make old things new again, trends in different iterations and best of all, at a great price! Maybe I can go out a buy that new wardrobe after all...

hah! How right you are about taking photos of yourself in public. It isn't something a "normal" person would do. I do admit, it is fun to do though. I like planning my outfits! Congrats on making LALM. As always, it's deserved. Have a great weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteWho every said we are normal?? Seriously, CONGRATS on Links a la mode!!
ReplyDeleteyes, I'm used to make some crazy things as taking photos of myself in the backyard!!, and I feel it's absolutely normal for me, and no business of my not-so-kind neighbors!!
ReplyDeletelovely post, dear lady, and congrats!
besos
Congrats on IFB....one day I shall figure how to link up! I beleive that's how I found you by keying into google & you popped up! Hope you enjoy the fabulous sun this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've decided that if taking pictures of my outfits, shopping finds, and dressing room visits isn't normal, then normal certainly isn't what I want to be :-).
ReplyDeleteCongrats on IFB Bella dear!!
HAHA I love your neighbor, that just cracks me up that she wouldn't watch or come by for a nice laugh. Anyways congrats to you being featured. Keep posting the pics...we love them
ReplyDeleteFunny, I love this "club" of visually creative people. But, I am a bit uncomfortable when cars drive by while I'm shooting pics on my front porch!
ReplyDeletelove those little shots of you, cutie! now when I have a friend to take photos of me, i try to pose like i was some kind of turist outside :D it makes me feel comfortable when someone's watching :D
ReplyDeleteNormal? we don't need no stinkin' normal! : > Congrats on the Links, and your red dress is indeed a classic beauty.
ReplyDeleteHaha this post made me smile. Who wants to be normal anyway, right!? I also think it's pretty freakin' awesome that you're on page one of the gingham and plaid google searches! I'd be more concerned if you weren't trying to bring that up in casual conversation as often as possible! Congrats on links a la mode. XOXO
ReplyDeleteHa,I know,it IS a kinda weird world we live in!! I love it'bl;oggin really has changed my life, shallow though some may see it!
ReplyDeleteI must say I'm getting really good at blotting out the world when we take pix out in public!
Now,that is uber cool that you've appeared on the links thingy, sweets. It's only natural, you're just TOO fabulous!!!
XXXXXXXXXXMWAH (wetly!)
LOL at the camera stuff Bella, *I* know what you mena and how fascinating it all is, even if the world at large doesn't, phooey to them!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the IFB, how excitement!!!
Congrats on making the "Links A la Mode"! Yep, it isn't a regular thing for most folks to be shooting photos of themselves for outfit posts. I used to be kind of uncomfortable about it, but I have two friends who quite happily help out behind the camera, and my neighbours are getting used to seeing me posing on my porch.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. And this post made me lol. I often wonder if my neighbors see me and think I'm insane.
ReplyDeleteI l.o.v.e. the pic of you with the mirrored ray bans. Amazing.
That's awesome to be ranked on page 1 in Google!! I would brag about it :)
ReplyDeleteYes, being a fashion blogger is quite bizarre to my non-blogging friends. It's nice to step outside of the bubble once in awhile.
Thank you so much for this post - and congrats on making the ifb list too! The first part, about being a style blogger and how weird it is and how people don't really understand - I so get that! Today I was asked "what's your passion?" and I didnt know how to respond. The truth, that I like driving around LA with my husband taking photos of my outfit sounded just too bizarre, but it's the truth! That's my passion.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely NOT normal, too boring ;) This is so funny! and sooo true! Unfortunately I come up in the top 10 for "little house on the prairie"-watch those tags! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Reeves
