Outfit Post: Miz Mooz, Ox-blood Boots

Fall colors are steeped in drama. Case in point the au currant color of Oxblood, aka Merlot,  Bordeaux, or Burgundy. This wine-soaked hue is seeped in drama, and looks so good against the plainer Fall colors of greys and browns. My recent boot bonanza, a pre-loved pair of oxblood Miz Mooz boots, looked so good around town, strolling over a cascade of burgundy, red and yellow leaves and a gorgeous grey stony sidewalk.
On a side-note: I've been having camera issues as of late- my lens broke and the replacement while good when I'm behind the camera, isn't the best pick for a timer/remote spat of self-photos. I've noticed that the background will come in crystal clear but my poor model skills show up rather blurry- see photo above as an example, which was the best pick of the crop. I have zero techie skills so need to work this out- please bear with me. I'll try my best to figure out how to take a crisp pic of my outfits. The clear pictures come from my cell phone. I love the irony of that.

I had a couple of people ask me for tips on how to score on a pair of (usually pricey) Miz Mooz boots. So I'm going to offer you some tips, but I'm also going to say, that the quality and comfort of Miz Mooz is worth the full price investment if you can afford it.

The following is a quick list of online sources where you can score yourself a pair of Miz Mooz boots.

Zappos
Amazon.com
ModCloth
DSW
ShopStyle
Ebay

My number one choice in purchasing shoes online is Zappos. At Zappos.com you can almost find any shoe, and usually at a very competitive price. They had me at their great shoe videos, and the free shipping both ways.

While I often think of Amazon as a place to buy books, vitamins and house goods, Amazon offers a great selection of clothing and shoes. A quick search for "Miz Moots Boots" turned up 128 results, and if you are a Prime member you can get FREE 2-day shipping.

Falling for Miz Mooz. Wearing a pre-loved pair from Labels Consignment

If you're feeling hip and posh, by all means shop Modcloth. I go there to see pretty, swingy fashion, but knowing that fave brands like Knitted Dove and Miz Mooz are sold at Modcloth make me feel a little more twee than I'd like, but it's a great site and shopping resource.

There are loads of discount shoe outlets online, from DSW, 6 PM, Shoe Buy, and bargains can be had all across the internet. You can cross your fingers and HOPE that your desired pair of boots in oxblood red can be found there. You may save some money. It's possible. I like to find THEE pair of shoes/boots/shooties that my heart desires.  And that brings me to the mother of all window shopping sites: ShopStyle

When you cruise over to shopstyle.com
you can create a account and create lookbooks of your favorite fashions from all across the web. Or you can just do a single search and find the size, the price and the shoe you want. A search for "Miz Mooz boots" turned up 124 results, over one hundred (106 of them to be exact) are boots. And of those 100, about six of the Miz Mooz boots need to be added to my wish list, stat.  I've got an account set up over at ShopStyle (apparently from years ago) I haven't utilized it before. But while researching for this post, I've come to the conclusion that this is one of the best ways to find what your heart desires while locating the best deal for it. Please look me up if you already use this network/shopping site) Disclosure: I just signed up as an affiliate for this rad program (what took me so long?) For possible gently used, pre-loved boots, your best bet online is Ebay.
One search for "Miz Mooz boots" turned up 162 results. You can filter your size and color preference and see if your dream boot shows up. I found some in my size starting at 34.00 in auction and a few "Buy It Now" for under $80.

Nothing beats the thrill of a good score on a great shoe or boot. I got lucky with my Miz Mooz, a steal at $55 from a local consignment shop. I'm not sure if you can beat my deal online, but the quality and comfort of Miz Mooz shoes, you are most welcome to try!

  6. Agree with you on Zappos. Buying shoes on-line is difficult at best, ya can't try them on! So the free shipping both ways as perfect. We buy from Zappos a lot for the plays, because of the free shipping.

I'm too chicken to try ordering footwear from the States, I just couldn't work out my damn shoe size when I was there! I'm a consistent 8 here, but over there I was anywhere from a 7 1/2 to a 9! Bizzarre!
Gawd,I'm lousy at techie stuff too!Hope you get that camera sorted pronto!

  21. I've never had luck buying shoes online because of the size and shape of my foot. Those are some gorgeous boots - I'm a fan of the Miz Mooz brand too. Good luck sorting out the camera issues. I'm rarely able to get a sharp photo of myself using my tripod and timer, and my lens isn't even broken.

  36. Those boots are probably the most perfect boots I've seen in a very long time. I LOVE the color, style, and the fact that you said they're comfortable. I never shop online, but I think that's about to end. Thank you for all the excellent info.

    Enjoy your beautiful fall weather!

  37. Bella, that coat is divine - the colour! The cut and details! The buttons! And your boots are, of course, fantastic.

I die with envy over your Zappos and 6 pm which don't ship to Canada at all, and also your Amazon - Canada has a such a lukewarm piddly version (as we used to have with Zappos), and all the fabulous shoes on ebay which only ship within-U.S. I've somehow managed a jam-packed closet anyway, so it's "good" to be kept in check by shipping / customs / duty fees! Or so I console myself. :)

  38. Zappos has good service! Though I rarely buy shoes online because fit is so hard!

  39. I've never heard of this brand! They are gorgeous Bella. What a great steal. I love consignment shopping!

  40. Lovely way to wear oxblood red. I love combining that colour with a brighter red as you do here. Adding pink into the mix makes it even more fun!

  41. Still looking great despite the fuzzy camera!
Those boots are amazing, the heel would kill me but the buttons and the ox blood leather would be worth it

  42. You totally scored with your pre-loved oxblood pictures - love this color with all your reds!
