Picture Perfect: Autumn Wings

I came across this exquisite creature early one morning sometime last week. The wings blended so perfectly into the sunflower, and the sunflower and the moth (or is it a butterfly?) just seemed like such a splendid augury for this coming Fall. 

 What do you think? 



Butterfly or moth?

    It's definitely a butterfly! And a beautiful one too! I don't know the name of it but we have one almost like it here in Denmark. Nice shot! Butterflies are not the easiest to capture in a photo!

    AHHHHHHH! I'm afeard! Beautiful shot but I hate all insect things, even the ones everyone else likes! I feel all creepy-crawly now.

    Definitely butterfly. I go with Painted Lady, as Lynn said. I did think tortoiseshell, but they have blue at the bottom of their wings, so no.
