Outfit Post: Minty Fresh



Last night there was snow! After a day of rain, and then a burst of hail, the conditions were finally right, and down came a feather dusting of snow. I snapped a pic when my boyfriend came home from work all wet and cold and snowed upon. He said the night looked so beautiful, as it was snowing out on the street, but I didn't make it past the porch steps. One quick click of a little weather-worn succulent, and back inside!

Ruby red, and minty green heat up a Seattle winter's day.

It's back to normal, a grey layer of cloud, and very cold! Well, at least for me- I am planning on bundling up to walk to work, with a layer of thermals under my jeans, and my 3-ply minty fresh cashmere turtleneck sweater- something that would have been way too warm to ever wear in my old stomping grounds of Sacto. Brrrrr!

These outfit photos were taken a few weeks ago- it was cold that day, but not so cold that I couldn't get away with not wearing socks- you can be sure TODAY I will be wearing two pairs, and my all weather Ahnu boots! These boots, (first written about HERE) have really come in handy here in Seattle. I recommend them now, more than ever!

    Living in a warm weather it is difficult to understand what really cold weather feels like.

    Our snowiest months are January and February here, but it beats my business to death. Here's to all snow going where it is wanted and needed. And only mid-week.

    funny coincidence, yesterday I thrifted a mint green cashmere sweater more or less like yours, I only bought it because it was cheap, only a fiver and in mint (eh,eh) condition and I'm crazy about cashmere, but had no idea on how to match this difficult colour, you gave me a good idea, I'll go for red!

    I know how you feel. I like wearing my sweaters too, but as soon as I'm done clicking, it's time to get back inside. I'm ready for warmer weather.

    I love those clogs, they are gorgeous. You're still brave to go sockless even in that cold though, my toes would drop off I'm sure. Fabulous cosy hat too. X

    The hail almost looks like little fish eggs. What a great pic. I love looking at snow but my body just can't tolerate it anymore. I love your minty sweater with the red at and the shoes.

    Those are some tall clogs. Be careful out there in those! Red is a fantastic color on you Bella, but how ever did you get the little hail pellets to land so nicely around that lotus flower plant?? Cool photo!

    I started the week off wearing tights, a winter coat and boots. I'll end the week wearing just a dress, cotton leggings and sandals. It feels like springtime. Stay warm!

    Mint green and red, wow! Great combo. I mean, a mint green fisherman's knit sweater is pretty special, but adding the red is pure genius!

    We had snow this morning, and may get more tomorrow. But next week is going to be REALLY cold.

    Love the outfit, especially that nice warm looking sweater. And you are looking great in those skinny jeans! I wish I could look that good in a pair of 'em.
    We've had warmer weather the past few days here in PA. It's supposed to get up to 60 tomorrow and we're all excited! A friend of mine from SoCal said it was down to 28 there, and not in the mountains, either. It usually doesn't go below 40 unless you're at the beach. This weather is bananas lately.

    It's been crazy cold in LA too! But not snowing of course. How exciting to live in a place that snows. Love your minty green cashmere sweater with the bright red cap. Great color combo. And those jeans look great on you!

    Mint and red... I would never have thought to put those two together but I like it! It is like 70 degrees in Atlanta so I am missing my winter clothes. I really want to wear my sweaters. So I can turn on the air-conditioning I guess and wear them. :-)

    That is such a pretty sweater and I'm glad you are getting some wearing time for it, My Seattle friends laughed for years at all the layers I had to wear to stay warm the first few years I lived there. Now that I have acclimated to Tulsa, when I was in Sacramento for Christmas, I was stunned by the cold.

    Oh! I'm loving mint lately, too, but have yet to pick up a piece in this shade. Reminds me so much of some of my middle school outfits in the early nineties - I even had mint nail polish back then right alongside my plastic rings. Love this sweater, especially paired with your jeans and red clogs. Love!
