Still, one of my favorite spots to shop Seattle vintage is Beats + Bohos in Ballard. Tucked up and away from
the busy street bustle of 15th Avenue NW, Beats + Bohos Vintage and Vinyl is chock full of amazing
things! Last time I was there, I pulled out the trusty iPhone and
snapped shots of some my personal favorites- Pendleton plaids, 50's
cocktail dresses, a houndstooth hat, a rare beaded tribal belt. All the
while listening to some great old vinyl records being spun over the
stereo. Some classical music rubbed elbows with a spaghetti western
movie soundtrack which went to town on some great classic garage bands.
I'm mixing my music metaphors, I know, but the effect was heady.
You
can get a taste of this effect if you're in the 'hood, this Saturday-
Beats and Bohos is putting on a party which entails a big sale on the
vintage and the vinyl AND some DJ's spinning you like a merry-go-round
from 5 pm to late night. You can get the deets HERE.
You'll also find a goodly amount of my own vintage clothing for sale there- right now there's a few racks of some of my best classic cardigans, spring-timg plaids (think browns, creams and greens) and some great Carnaby Street 1960's style raincoats and jackets. Oh, and saying "Rosebud" right before you check out will get you 10% off your purchase.

You going to be there on Saturday Bella? I've got this place marked on my desktop notepad so maybe I'll remember how much I've wanted to visit there this time. Looks/sounds like a cool place.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll stop in Beats & Bohos then since you're selling your stuff there. Trove on Market is also nice. My favorites are still Value Village & Goodwill in Ballard though, just based on the huge selection & low prices. Seattle is a pretty competitive market for thrifting though. Good stuff usually get snatched up quickly. Sometimes I drive up to the Saint Vincent de Paul in Lynwood just because there aren't so many hipsters there picking over the selection.
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of shops I love!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I can come soon to Seattle!!!
