Swedish Fish: Fishing For Compliments in these Candy Sweet Red Swedish Clogs in the Ballard district |
Ballard is an historically rich community that boasts a proud (and colorful) Scandinavian heritage. So in my attempt to blend in last summer, I kicked down some good Americano dinero to purchase the candy apple red, tall yet traditional Swedish beauties that you see here. They are still being broken in, but I can see YEARS of good wear in these Nordic lovelies!
As they say in the old country: Lev ditt liv lokal, och älskar den globala (Live local, love global.)
You can also shop some awesome Swedish Clogs HERE
these totally remind me of growing up and spending summers in croatia. all we wore!
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful! I love that colour. I must say though that I find it hard to believe you could ever blend in. You were obviously born to stand out! XO
ReplyDeleteI love me some sweet red shoes and these are really really cute!
ReplyDeleteThese clogs are super-cute!!!!! <3
ReplyDeleteThis so reminded me of a pair of blue clogs I had as a girl...loved them. Like to see more of your beautiful skirt too!

Great color and I bet you that they super comfortable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Ballard, Seattle link, I never heard of it before.
I spent my entire childhood wearing clogs, as did everyone else in my little backwater village in Sweden in the 70s :)
ReplyDeleteWe used to have this rather dangerous 'clog game' where you had to flip your clog off your foot whilst on the swing, whoever flipped their clog the furthest won...I'm just glad no one ever walked in front of one of those deadly clog projectiles.
Clogs last forever, I still have a pair of my mums old clog boots from the 70s and they are still going strong, so no doubt you'll get your moneys worth out of your super pretty Swedish clogs...xXx
I love red, these shoes are wonderful. I cheaked out the link and they all look great too :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteThey're so lovely - and another lady said, they'll last forever! I'd love to see the outfit that went with the clogs as well.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I'm really finding myself becoming bolder with colour as I grow older so love this red.
ReplyDeletehello I love those clogs . red is my favourite colour shoes. can I use your badges?. I am on your over 40 blogroll. could you also join my blog. I am from Ireland thank you .
ReplyDeleteI love clogs .. so hard to find companies that make half sizes. I wear size 8.5 and when I'm told to 'go up a half size' I say, No thanks! You can see that I have extra heel on the back and it looks stupid :-P

I love these! I bought my first pair of red shoes last year - at the age of 64!!! I now have a second pair and expect to add more to my wardrobe. Why did I have to wait 64 years to discover that black is boring?
ReplyDeleteI love clogs! Wear them every summer!
ReplyDeleteThose are some click, I mean clog your heels Nordic lovlies! You picked a great color too.
ReplyDeleteI took my kids to the Nordic Heritage Community Center a couple of times for something to do. We had a Nordic breakfast and watched movies in a language we couldn't even understand...but it was fun anyway. Free fun!
Looking forward to meeting you Bella! Let's not feel like we have to make a big to do dressing up. I'm usually a very casual person and rarely "cuteness" myself up a whole lot. ;) Just don't want you to overdress me and make me look dumpy! LOL
Those red clogs are adorable. I love that scalloped design.
ReplyDeleteCute!! That skirt hem looks pretty awesome, too...
ReplyDeleteNordic lovelies, indeed! So cute.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I need a profile pic of these lovely shoes! I'd also like to see the rest of the skirt that that tantalizing little plaid bit belongs to.
ReplyDeleteMy Nordic heritage concurs with your love for the Red Swedish Clogs!
ReplyDeleteI love red shoes! These are so nice!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a pair of red suede ankle boots, and I can't find them. I can't believe that I would have got rid of them, but that's what happens when you move a lot. :-(
