It was fun meeting other bloggers and learning how to blog. But after a
year or so, I decided to take a break and concentrate on my real life.
I lost thirty pounds, started exercising, and worked on my spiritual
life. But eventually I missed the blogging community and my friends
there. I missed having an online voice and I also missed having a creative outlet.
I realized I still wanted a personal style blog with a focus on
thrifting, but I wanted to broaden my scope to include writing about how
to live joyfully. That's how "I Love My Lemonade Life" was born.
My blog's motto is "Life is often sweet, sometimes sour, but God is always
good."
A Lemonade Life is about trying to find the positive in every
negative- by facing the world with zebra shoes, a pink cardigan and
bright lipstick, and trying new things. However, living
a "Lemonade Life" doesn't mean that everything is perfect. I still have
fat days, old days, ugly days, complaining days and tired days just like
everybody else. A lot of times you look at other bloggers and think,
"Wow, she's really got it together!" If we're all honest, what we
really need to say to each other is, "I am trying to get it together! And I would like for you to read along and try to get it together with me."
Living
a Lemonade Life is like a quote I have hanging up at home. It says
"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about dancing in
the rain." The real world can be a challenge at times. I created my
blog to remind myself that looking on the bright side is possible
regardless of circumstances. As for fashion, I believe in expressing your personal style whatever
your income. It's like Coco Chanel said, "Fashion changes, but style
endures." I find it inspiring to see how other bloggers put themselves
together, but the real fun starts when you begin trying things out for
yourself.
Thrifting is another part of the Lemonade Life lifestyle. Living below
your budget is one of the best stress busters in the world. I run a thrift store and
it's amazing all the beautiful things that pass through my hands. Most
of what I wear these days is thrifted. As a fellow thrift store owner
said to me a few years back, "I don't like to see myself coming and
going." Shopping at a thrift store is like browsing a collection of
one-of-a-kinds.

Lastly
and most importantly, my faith is part of everything I do. Everyone
needs a best friend who will love them at their worst and help them to
be their best and my faith provides that relationship for me and that
helps me to be positive about my life. That
sums up my Lemonade Life. Thanks for taking the time to read this
post! There's a million things you could be doing and I want to thank
you for spending this time with me. I also want to give a big shout out
to Bella for inviting me to guest post. She's my hero in thrifting, shopping locally and encouraging + 40 bloggers. If you're not on her + 40 Blogroll, GET ON IT! I get traffic every day from Bella's blog.
