#SECONDHANDFIRST™: Link-up, Project Pao

Chicago artist Pat Otto set about to simplify her wardrobe for a year by upcycling her old clothes. It is now year three.

When Pao started her blog, Project Minima, it was her artist's way to clean up the clutter in her house, namely her closets, and minimize her consumption. Thus, a part art, part sewing, part personal style blog was born.

For anyone looking for a fresh perspective on style and self expression, Pao is your gal. Sewing, crafters, artists: Project Minima may be just the thing to kick-start your own creativity for your upcycling/recycling projects. Women looking for non-conventional, and inspirational +40 women, put Project Minima on your reading list; Pao packs a punch.

Now it's time to share your #SECONDHANDFIRST
looks. Please feel free to leave a link to one of your looks featuring a sustainably shopped garment, accessory or item that's been swapped, thrifted shopped or ethically produced + sourced. We'll be hosting this community event for a week, so you'll have plenty of time to share and be social.

If you know some one (including yourself) that deserves to be featured as a #SECONDHANDFIRST SHOPPER, SELLER or ICON, please let us know in the comments.

  6. fabulous & inspiring Project!!, and so talented lady!!, I'm trying to revamp some clothes, instead of buying new stuff. I'm attaching fabric to some pieces, overdying others or cutting off sleeves. So funny. Thanks for your inspiring posts!!!

  11. I love this! You actually inspired me to start my own #2ndhand1st revolution and it included a whole YEAR (2013) of shopping ONLY 2nd hand first for clothes, no retail!!! Even though my challenge is over, I have zero desire to shop retail. Any time I even look I just feel blah. There are so many true treasures to be had on the second hand market.
