Return of the Rosebud

I'll confess: for a while now, I've been toying with the idea of just starting anew. A new blog, a new project, a new, new new something. But you know what? I kinda figured I'd be wanting to talk about the things I've always liked to talk about and that pretty much is sustainable fashion, personal style and secondhand shopping. So I'm going to just do it here.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Currently, I'm living in Seattle, Washington, where I've been for the past 6 years. It's been an interesting time in Seattle, because the neighborhoods are now changing pretty rapidly, and we're wondering if this city's soul is going the way of San Francisco. There's lots of industry, business booming kind of thing, but there's also a push on the poorer peeps, rent increases, cost of living increases make doing the day to day something of a challenge and a struggle.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO?
Trying to make ends meet, pretty much. Still selling vintage and secondhand goods online through various venues. Doing the odd job here and there. Nothing too exciting to note. But what I have been up to that may be of interest are a couple of new hobbies. I've been doing lots of art, and trying my hand at painting which has been very rewarding. Even managed to sell a handful of pieces, and get accepted into a group show.

HOW ARE YOU DOING?
I'm doing ok. Been experiencing a bit of ups, and downs. As I supposed is the way with everybody.
I do know, that I'm feeling more tapped into my own damn self, and have come to terms with my limitations and shortcomings, and I do so with more compassion.

Now let me ask you the same:

  • WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
  • WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO?
  • HOW ARE YOU DOING?

If you feel like it, let me know in the comments.
Thanks for visiting!

  1. Wow! Good to see you blogging again. Talk about whatever you want; it's your space.

I've heard about the real estate and other problems on the West Coast; I wondered if that San Francisco situation stretched up and reached you. Keep us posted on your life.

  2. Hey Bella! Nice to see you back on the blog (although I have seen you on IG). I'm still living in conservativetown, Ontario, but just came back from a week in Vancouver, which was lovely, and spent quality time with a blogger friend being silly. I've been ok too, a few "down" times in the winter but am doing alright and trying to keep posting on my blog.

  3. Good to see you here again, Bella! I miss seeing your unique outfits and reading your beautiful prose. I've always thought of you as very gifted both visually and as a writer. It is wonderful that you can make living with what you love, even if only part of your work is what you really love - that's already great! But I realize how uneasy it is. And yes, I hear you about rent prices and all.

We're still here a few miles down south, on the shore of Puget Sound. I came back to storytelling, and lately gained a couple of new hobbies/interests too. Painting sounds inspiring and healing to me. I would love to take classes some day. Congratulations on your show!! It is great to feel passionate about something - it sparks a new life in our world! Happy return!

  4. So good to see you, Bella! I grew my hair out - it's now mostly grey and much longer. Other than that, still livin' the dream in pretty clothes, with my awesome hubby/best friend, and the coolest kitty on the coast.

  5. Lovely to read that you've been creating some paintings, Art is something so rewarding (and necessary in our lifes as I'm concerned!).
I always tell that my life is quiet and that I have not great new things to talk about, but actually, I've moved to a new flat, get another job which I (almost) enjoy and have some new hobbies too, particularly sewing and crafting papier maché and resin!
I've missed your 'blooming madly' attitude!
    besos
